My Neighbor Totoro is an animated fantasy film that was launched by Studio Ghibli, which is a Japanese animation studio. The movie was released in 1988 and its original name is Tonari no Totoro. The movie has been directed by the expert director Hayao Miyazaki. The character of this film is cute and attractive and it matches the animation style of Japanese manga and the voice actors for the film are Chika Sakamoto, Noriko Hidaka, and Hitoshi Takagi. The storyline of the movie is about two young daughters of a professor that interact with some friendly wood spirits after a war in rural Japan. The film has bagged several awards such as the Animage Anime Grand Prix, Kinera Jumpo Award, Blue Ribbon Awards etc.

The character Totoro is an animation male character which was launched for the movie My Neighbor Totoro. The voice actor for this character in the Japanese version of the movie was Hitoshi Takagi and in the English version was Frank Welker from Disney. The main role of the character is of a forest spirit which lives in a large camphor tree situated in a small village of Japan. The character is also shown as a cameo appearance in movies such as Dragon Pickles, Toy Story 3 and Philoctetes Team-Up. The Totoro is a grey furry character and has a beige colored belly with grey colored arrows on his chest. His appearance is characterized by pointy ears, large paws and long whiskers and claws. It is very cute and the entire silhouette of the character resembles the look of an owl.

The character is available in three different sizes namely the big Totoro which is the king of the forest and he is sleepy. The medium one is smaller and has blue and grey color with a white belly. The small Totoro is the smallest variant of the three and is white in color with a simpler structure. The character has become a lot popular after the movie My Neighbor Totoro and is quite popular amongst children.
